Day 27 – Most badass scene from any anime character

Warning!! Spoilers for F/Z lie ahead xD.

Ok so this, imho, is one of the most epic and awesome scenes out there ^^. First of all, we get to see how amazingly powerful both these servants actually are. Then Rider finally sees his dream fulfilled and though Gilgamesh is a meanie most of the time, we get to see the more noble and respectful side of him once more ^^.

Rider was charismatic and awesome as fudge from the start and the fact that he checked out in such an epic way is further proof of just how brilliant a character he is :D.

As always, thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Day 23 – Favourite attack

Initially, this was a contender for the ‘most epic scene’ post, but then I realised I could fit both moments in the challenge ^^.

Spoiler for F/Z ahead!! Tread with caution :D:D. Also, apologies for the state of the post but for some reason I can’t embed a video properly ><.

In my opinion, the most awesome attack someone’s used in an anime is Saber‘s use of Excalibur, in her battle against Caster from Fate/Zero. The video above shows it all.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Day 18 – Favourite supporting female anime character

For this one I think I’ll have to go with Irisiviel von Einzbern from Fate/Zero.

4IYA5

I’ve always admired her kind and gentle nature despite the life she had and the events she goes through. She’s also a very strong person, if you ask me. Iriasviel’s always been there for and supported Kiritsugu on his journey and she stood by her convictions until the very end.

As always, thanks for stopping by ^^.

Day 2 – Favourite anime you’ve watched so far

As with quite a few of the ‘days’ to come, this one’s gonna be a list rather than one particular title. Basically, I can’t choose just one series/movie because I really like several, each for different (or sometimes similar) reasons, etc., etc. For the sake of the posts though, I’ll limit the list to 5 titles. So yeah… on with the list :D.

Mononoke Hime (もののけ姫)

mononoke 2

Ever since I first saw this movie I’ve been astonished at how amazing and well rounded it is. It’s got a beautiful story, characters are great, art is amazing and the OST is just superb. This is definitely one of the animes that I could just re-watch a billion times and still not be sick of it.

Kara no Kyoukai (空の境界)

366302

“Mesmerised” is the only word that comes to mind just now while thinking how this series left me. True, I only saw the first seven movies and the epilogue when I initially watched it, but I was astonished at the amazing execution of this series. As confusing as it was because of the films’ order, it only made me want to re-watch it again, and again, and again. You get the gist :D.

Fate/Zero (フェイト/ゼロ)

509126

For me, this series has some of the most amazing characters out there. Everybody’s so well written and well thought out that even the bad guys fascinated me to no end and made me want to know more about them. Couple that with a brilliant story, superb animation and OST and you’ve got a masterpiece. Once again, this is a series that I could re-watch any number of times and still want more of it :D.

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica (魔法少女まどか☆マギカ)

Mahou-Shoujo-Madoka-Magica-mahou-shoujo-madoka-magica-37533192-1500-1060

Ah, the Madoka series… I have to admit, I could have done without the final movie (I don’t think it’s bad or anything, but for me the story seemed to have a good initial ending), still, this series is very close to my heart. Aside from the whole ‘deconstruction of the magical girl genre’ aspect, the series does a great job of portraying a group of believable characters and their struggles following the decision to take on a huge responsibility, not to mention the way this affects their relationships with each other and other ‘non-magical’ people.

Shiki (屍鬼)

I guess some would say this show isn’t really horror and whatnot, but I think that this is the best horror anime I’ve seen so far. One thing that I love about it is that it portrays what would happen if a family of vampires would decide to take over a small village in a very realistic way. And we’re talking real, can’t-come-into-the-house-unless-invited vampires.

Another thing that I love about this anime is that by the end of it you end up questioning whether or not vampires really are all that evil and who the actual ‘monsters’ are. All in all, it’s a great and very real story, with well drawn out characters and an OST that can enchant and creep you out at the same time ^^.

So that would be my ‘top 5’, if I’d have to name it in any way. Titles I’d still like to mention are: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (鋼の錬金術師 FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST), Kokoro Connect (ココロコネクト), Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュ), Baccano!, Monster (モンスター), Haibane Renmei (灰羽連盟), Spirited Away (千と千尋の神隠し) and I’ll shush now or this list won’t end any time soon :D:D.
